The Ride

As you pass through the dock house to enter your tour boat, the erie sound of music from the film gives you a hint that something unsettling is about to happen. Your tour guide greets you as you board the boat and set off on a tour of Amity. After taking note of a few landmarks, including Chief Brody's office, a distress call is heard over the radio. Another tour boat is in trouble. You race to the scene to help, however you are too late. The tour boat, carrying guest just like you, has met it's doom. You can only watch as the remains of the boat sink to the bottom.

A fin appears to your left. Actually its quite a big fin at that. You are going to need a bigger boat. The great white shark swims under your boat and thrashes you around. Luckily, you have survived...for now. Quick to the boat house! You enter the boat house to safety the doors close behind you. You are safe, or is their something in here with you? The attack comes from the right as the great white breaks through the surface of the water right next to the boat, just missing an opportunity to pick off one of the guests in your boat.

You make a break out of the boat house. The great white is in pursuit. With a grenade launcher in hand, your tour guide takes aim, but JAWS tips your boat, causing the tour guide to shoot the dock which just so happens to house a few gasoline tanks. The heat is intense! Amazingly, you avoid a crispy demise.

The tour boat makes it's way to a dock so you can disembark, but JAWS has other plans as he pops up to your right, spelling certain doom. As the final bite is about to hit, JAWS bites into a high voltage electrical cable. Smoke is everywhere. Does someone smell something burning? The chard remains of JAWS takes one last attempt to get you as he sinks to the bottom. That's disgusting!

Call off the marine. Your tour guide is bring you home. You and the people of Amity are safe...for now.

Discover Universal Orlando: Jaws Tips

Placement is everything on this attraction. The left side your tour boat definitely offers the best views of the shark. Guests who sit toward the right will have obstructed views of the shark, exploding dock, and sinking tour boat, but they will have the best view in the boathouse. Our favorite possible rows either four or five. If at all possible try to ride this attraction twice, once in the daytime and once at dusk or in the evening. The experience of a shark at night and the pyrotechnics raise the bar for Jaws. Although the ride is not really scary for adults, smaller children may find the experience too intense. If you still take your child on the ride, an obstructed view may not be such a bad idea after all.

Remember, this is a water ride, so there is a good chance you'll get sprayed a bit, especially on the side seats. Plus, there is a good chance when you enter your boat, small puddles of water will already be seated, so bring a napkin to wipe it off.

As with other rides, Universal Express Pass, cuts the wait time a lot In several cases, a fifty minutes wait for normal guest turned into just ten minutes for us. Guests in wheelchairs and Motorized Transportation Vehicles must transfer to the boat for this attraction.
